| For 25 years, Dr. Alan J. Lipman, founder and director of Washington Psychotherapy, has provided marriage, couples, and relationship counseling and individual psychotherapy in the heart of Georgetown, in Washington, D.C. Dr. Lipman is well known for his work with relationships, as a professor at Georgetown University, his appearances on CNN, MSNBC, and the BBC, and he has also held positions at Yale Psychiatric Institute and The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is author on 15 published articles in professional and peer-reviewed journals, and has also served as Expert Psychology consultant and commentator for NBC Evening News, The Washington Post, Le Point, The Guardian (U.K.) and the Los Angeles Times, as an invited panel member for the Department of Health and Human Services, and as a consultant for the Department of State, among many other organizations. Dr. Lipman specializes in treating Relationship Problems and
Difficulties, Communication Problems, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and
Life/Work Difficulties and Transitions. He also helps attorneys
with work, life, and relationship issues, and was awarded a J.D.
